Disaster Preparedness Awareness Program
Kyaikkhami fire personnel joined Thanbyuzayat teams for a disaster awareness event on June 28, 2025, at Hla Thakaw Lake. The program included rescue demonstrations and community safety education.

To enhance public awareness on disaster prevention and emergency response, a disaster preparedness awareness and demonstration program was held at Hla Thakaw Lake, located in Kyunkadat Model Village, Thanbyuzayat Township.
The event was organized and led by the Myanmar Fire Services Department, Thanbyuzayat Township Headquarters. It was conducted in collaboration with firefighters from the Thanbyuzayat Central Fire Station and Kyaikkhami Fire Station, along with auxiliary fire brigade members, Myanmar Red Cross Society volunteers, charitable organizations, and rescue teams.
During the program, participants were educated on key disaster preparedness measures, personal safety techniques, and emergency planning for families. Additionally, live demonstrations of both water surface and underwater rescue operations were conducted to enhance practical knowledge and readiness in real-life emergency situations.
This disaster risk reduction initiative significantly contributed to increasing public awareness among the local community. It was recognized as an essential and timely campaign—especially valuable during the seasonal monsoon period when the risk of natural disasters is heightened.
